Kgalagadi Mabuasehube Overlanding Adventures
Mabuasehube, nestled in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, is a place that beckons adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. Let’s share why this unique destination is worth exploring.

Wilderness Harmony: Mabuasehube offers a rare blend of wild African predators co-existing peacefully with human visitors. Here, the ecosystem feels complete and whole, making it a true wilderness gem.

Remote Solitude: Imagine unzipping your rooftop tent at sunrise and witnessing a pride of lions silently padding across your sandy campsite. With only 17 campsites spread across its vast 780 square miles, you can go an entire day without encountering another human. It’s a place where you can still feel like a great explorer, facing challenges and relying on your own wits.

Self-Sufficiency: Before embarking on a Kalahari camping adventure in Mabuasehube, be prepared. There’s no cell phone coverage, no internet, no shops, no medical facilities, no fuel stations, and no electricity. Most importantly, water is scarce (with a few exceptions). Campsites offer minimal facilities—shade shelters, pit toilets, and sometimes shower enclosures.
Photographer’s Paradise: For photography enthusiasts, Mabuasehube is a dream. The adrenaline rush of wildlife encounters combines with utmost peace at the campsite. It’s a place where you can capture the raw beauty of the Kalahari.

In summary, Mabuasehube is an incredible wilderness where remoteness, fantastic campsites, and unforgettable animal encounters await. If you seek a true escape from the ordinary, venture into this untamed corner of Botswana.

Requirements.
4×4 with low range, no low profile tyres. Every person must be self-sufficient for the number of days spent at the rustic campsites with food, water and running your fridge / freezer on solar. No generators are allowed in any campsite.
Whether you’re setting up a tent on the ground, using a rooftop tent on your vehicle or trailer, or staying in an off-road caravan, make sure your shelter is secure and comfortable.

Off-road caravans and trailers are more than welcome.
There will be a lot of sand driving.
We do 4×4 overlanding adventures, not 4×4 obstacles.

Recovery gear

Campfire Safaris advises every vehicle to have some recovery straps and soft shackles. You know the condition of your own gear and how it was used or not yet.
Remember your gloves. Not only for recovery work, but also good to use when you don’t want to have dirt and grime on your hands.

We recommend to have 2 sets of sand tracks if you tow a trailer or caravan.
The second set will be used for the trailer / caravan to help those wheels get on top of the sand or mud as the recovery is in progress.
