Kruger National Park: Overnight Safari

Kruger Safari – The Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in Africa. It was established in 1898 as a conservation area and opened its gates for the first time to the public in 1927.

Departure 08h00 from your hotel reception in Johannesburg. The drive to the Kruger National Park (KNP) will be 6hours, this includes a halfway biological stop. Check in at the lodge is 14h00. Days are spent relaxing and having a drink on the banks of the Sabi River that flows in front the Skukuza rest camp. You can also use the gym at the lodge or sun bath next to the private pool. Facilities at the lodge for your own account: Skin Bar, Spa, Gym and you can play a round of golf at the world famous Skukuza Golf Club. PLEASE NOTE this golf course is unfenced and the animals, yes, all the animals can be found along the course. Breakfast is included in the cost of the safari.

Optional extra: You can book a Sunrise game drive for those that are early birds. Night drive if you are the night owl or a bush walk if you want to get very close to nature.

Sunrise and sunset open vehicle game drive time change with the seasons. Here you have the opportunity the experience the sunrise / sunset. With the sunrise drive you might see a nocturnal animal before they go their den to rest during the day. The night drive departs 30min after the sunset drive vehicle return to reception. The night drive is recommended if you want to see the nocturnal animals. The bush walk departs from reception at sunrise.

Max of 8 guests allowed on a bush walk with your 2 game rangers. You will have a leading tracker and a ranger walking at the back. Bush walks are very popular and need to be booked well in advance. We suggest that you confirm your activity with the confirmation of your booking.

Very important: Max of 8 people allowed on a bush walk. Only one walk per day.

On the second day of your stay in KNP you have a full day open vehicle game drive in a private vehicle and personal ranger. The drive starts at 08h30 and you will be back at 15h30. This open vehicle is limited to 10 guests. This is a unique drive and you the quest can decide how long you want to spend at a sighting. The ultimate personal experience.

You can book any other activity at reception as you please. The rangers use an open vehicle for the game drives. Please take note of the weather on the day and bring appropriate clothing with.

Departure from KNP back to your hotel in Johannesburg will be at 08h00 from reception. One vehicle will drive form Johannesburg and meet the vehicle that depart KNP halfway. The passengers will then change vehicles to continue to their destination.

Please note that on the morning of departure from KNP back to Johannesburg NOT to book any activity.

Need to know. Kruger Park is in the Malaria area of south Africa. There is a shop, take aways and sit-down ala carte restaurant. Breakfast at the lodge is buffet. Lunch and dinner are ala-carte. All the rooms sleep 2 people. Should an odd number of guests book the one person will have their own room.

The safari price is in (ZAR) South African Rand.

To bring with: Smiles and sunscreen with a sun hat. Your camera. Closed shoes for hiking. Warm / all-weather jacket. When you go on the bush walk, please put on natural color clothing. No bright and white colors it won’t blend with nature. Brown and green color’s work best. Please wear sneakers or hiking shoes.

Included: Breakfast, 3 nights’ stay in Kruger National Park (KNP) Road transfers from Johannesburg to KNP with a return transfer to your hotel. Open vehicle game drives. Full day open vehicle drive. Program:

Day 1:

08h00 travel from Johannesburg to KNP you check in and meet at reception for your sunset game drive. There is time for dinner once you return.

Day 2:

08h30 after breakfast you meet your personal ranger for the full day game drive. Lunch for your own account.

Day 3:

On this day you can book a sunrise game drive or bush walk even a round of golf or just relax at the lodge. You can walk around in the Skukuza camp or sit at the river and observe what nature bring to you while you sip on your cocktail. The afternoon you go on a sunset game drive. There is time for dinner once you return.

Day 4:

08h00 depart KNP to Johannesburg.
